A Synergistic Approach to Car Design
But there was a day that concept cars ruled the world. Where car design was taekn very seriously as an expression of the ideals of driving. Today's car market needs a breathe of fresh air. Car design and concept cars need to come back into the picture in order to inspire people to drive once more. The big difference is that now we need cars that won't kill our planet. 100% of the cars designed today use models from concept cars developed by Henry Ford, of all people. We still drive the same essential car design he developed based on the same technology platform. His car design was based on a horse and carriage type setup with the horse now an engine! What we drive today is just a glorified 4 wheeled cart pulled by a motor. I think we can do better. Please welcome to the fray The Mobius Projects. A fresh look at car design by bringing not only inspiring concept cars to market, but we make the 'green' as well *Please note that the vehicles depicted here are not representative of the exact designs under development. The images have been chosen to evoke a certain aesthetic appreciation of form and function. |

Green Car Design and Concept Cars Designing a 'Green' car is not as easy as it might seem. Most would say,
"pull the engine out and put in an electric and you'll do just fine".
Others will stand by the notion that making your car 'Green' requires
better gas mileage. On top of both of these viewpoints is the
perspective that the total carbon footprint must be uncovered in order to gauge the end to end impact of car design from drawing baord to scrap yard. If we're going to talk real deal kind of numbers, which do you think is more relevant? The State of Automotive Design
What first began as people pulling carts, to the energy coming from horses instead. I mean, where do you think the term "horse power" has come from? That is how antiquted modern motoring is... It still bases it's power conventions in terms of the number of horses engine output equates to. If you look to technology such as steering, suspension, and chassis you will find that it is very similar to 'advanced' horse and cart. Cabriolets, buggies, and sedans all have lineage that stretches back to the days of horse drawn transport. Just think about what you drive today and where the engine is placed. The horses still pull the cart! |
